2022 RECAP

Good Company Arts delivered four international world premieres. We recreated legacy works as full dome, virtual gallery, VR and webcasts for major festivals in Canada and Colombia.

For 2022 Matariki Festivals across both islands at home, we presented three film programmes partnering with arts organisations, tertiary leaders and libraries.

We were delighted to foster research towards exciting new works with brilliant young emerging choreographer/dancers (all graduates of the New Zealand School of Dance).

Our arts and cultural projects were made available free to public in most instances thanks to alliances with The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora, Lunar New Year Festival, World Stage Design, Festival Internacional de la Imagen, Auckland Central Libraries, AUTV, Massey University, Puaka Matariki Festival and the Asia New Zealand Foundation. Support from Creative New Zealand toi Aotearoa enabled artistic content to be streamed, projection mapped, and installed with successful performance activations.

Good Company Arts kept our carbon footprint very small. We donated to organisations that care for our natural environment such as Orokonui Ecosanctuary and Friends of Flora. We sponsored the planting of native trees in Te Wai Pounamu.

We grew our links with arts luminaries in Tokyo, Brisbane, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Saarbrücken, Tel Aviv, Pamplona and Amsterdam, and we’ve supported fellow arts groups to digitally document their own projects.

Good Company Arts in-person and online reached many thousands locally and internationally gaining critical and public acclaim. We are very humbled to have won seventeen international awards, and made selection to one hundred and forty four festival programmes worldwide.

We'd like to send heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful collaborators, partners and supporters in Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas. Good Company Arts wish everyone a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous incoming 2023. Kia kaha! Keep safe and strong everyone!
